Then we hit the historic Parry Lod ge in Kana b, home away from home to countless movie and tele vision stars shooting on location for everything from the classics "The Big Trail " (sho t in 1930 and featuring a you ng John Wa yn e ) an d "The Outlaw Josie Wales" to the netherworld-inspired w eirdness o f the cult classics "The Car" and "Exorcist II, The Heretic ." Even " Pla ne t of the Apes " m a d e a stop a t Kanab because of its . otherworldly beauty . Th e roo ms are nam ed a fte r fam ous ac to rs who h ave stayed in them (we had Tyr one Power and Rat Packer coo l cats Dean Martin a nd Sammy Da vis Ir.), and countless photos of famous a nd not-so-famous faces line the walls of the dining room and reception a rea . (Remember Sabu ? Me cither.) Post-Kanab, we hit Zion, w here we ran into our cho pper-mo unt ed friend and sh ot a few more photos, but mostl y jus t racked up so me more miles an d soaked in the lovely scenery. After that we hightailed it sou th on Interstate 15 From Jerome (opposite page) to the Arizona desert (bottom) to Zion National Park (right), our touring-bike Journey took us over 1300 miles.
