"Junge got by Reed in six and so did I, I got underneath Junge on the brakes going into seven and got by him to fill first place. Reed caught me and over the first bump on the back stretch, we hit each other and Junge got by both of us. 1 got by Junge again, as Ciccotto blew by all of us." Fourth place went to Lopez and fifth was taken by Joesf Brenner. In the Formula II race, it was Prussiano II all the way, despite his earlier crash in the Michelin 750cc Supe.rsport class. Prussiano rode like he was on a mission after his earlier crash and he led from beginning to end - eventually finishing some three and a half seconds ahead of Lantz. The 750cc Superstock Expert class . was won by Billy Eisenacher, who capitalized upon Prussiano's crash in turn seven. "I was slowly catching Prussiano and I think I had something for him in the end," Eisenacher said. Lopez finished second but was back to fourth before mounting a counterattack to retake the spot.fromJunge. "I ran my own race, Junge flew by me, he made a little mistake and 1 was able to take advantage of it to take second," Lopez said. As these two riders fought each other, Eisenacher built on his lead to take a commanding win over Lopez. Josh Hayes was able put his first Expert-level victory into the record books after a fantastic ride on his Valvoline Suzuki GSXRllOO. Hayes grabbed the holeshot and led from beginning to end. "It has been a lqng time since I have had a victory and this one feels great," Hayes said. "The Valvoline Suzuki was running perfectly and the Michelins provided excellent grip. At this point, 1 want to put my head down more and start making winning a habit again." Prussiano finished second on his Suzuki GSXR750, but couldn't catch Hayes who rode his 1100. Third wffit to Lopez on his Suzuki 1100 with Greg Leffler taking fourth and Timothy Bemisderfer fifth. The 125cc GP was dominated by Chris Ulrich. Chris's father John Ulrich led a t first, but he dropped back to an eventual fifth. Michael Himmelsbach was second with Chris Pyles third. The Formula One class has been dominated this year by Tray Batey, and Batey won again on his Suzuki GSXRllOO. He was followed by teammates Chris Taylor and Lopez. Scott Carpenter was fourth on his Yamaha YZFlOOO and William Lindsey filled the CN top five on his Suzuki. Road Atlanta Braselton, Georgia Results: May 10-11, 1997 1100 SlSTK: 1. Josh...
