Drug testing was performed on race winner John Kocinski, James Haydon and Pere Riba 'Cabana ·in superbike and to Massimo MeregaUi, Marc Garcia and Giovanni Bussei in Supersport. Again, all were negative. From May 1 to June 30, IMS will donate 25 percent of all retail sales and 10 percent of all dealer sales to the Mike Young Trust Fund. Young recently suffered damage to his spinal cord while practicing for an AMA 4-Stroke MX National. Over $20,000 was raised at the Mike Young Jr. Charity Auction, held on May 9-11 at Chaparral Motorsports and at Glen Helen Raceway. Over 58 manufac~ turers, dealers and individuals showed their support by donating products and more than 35 riders gave jerseys for the auction, according to Chaparral's Mike Tolle. TravelCraft has arranged for open training at the Kenny Roberts Training Ranch in Barcelona, Spain, during the Barcelona Grand Prix on September 14. The training class, for all rider leyels, is scheduled to be led by Jimmy Filice and will include two days of riding, the Grand Prix and the Dirt Track USA event. The Florida Motorsports Complex in Ocala, Florida, will host an open practice day on June 7, prior to the regional qualifier for Loretta Lynn's. Tickets are now available for the Cosmo's Factory concert tha t will be held on July 4 during the Hollister Rally in Hollister, California. The Cosmo's Factory is made up of former Creedence Clearwater Revival members Doug Clifford and Stu Cook. The rally is to commemorate the 50th anniversary af the "Wild One" legendary rally-in 1947. Friends and family of the late Donny Schmit are currently working with Mil- lville MX track owner Jon Martin to put together a Donny Schmit Memorial race at the Minnesota venue on August 1-3. The memorial race will take place on the Saturday Amateur day, the day prior to the AMA National Motocross at Millville. reported that up-and-coming British road racer Scott Smart is the cousin of former 500cc World Champion Barry Sheene. "We are trying to pattern ourselves after the successful FIM Enduro series, and they recognize champions in each of the four (Lightweight and Heavyweight TwoStroke and Four-Stroke) enduro classes," Director of Member Activities Hugh Fleming said. ·"It is not meant to take anything away from one individual but rather to give more riders an opportunity to bask in the glory of being a National AMA Champion.
