Tony Meiring continued on a roll with wins on
the IT track in the 80cc A and Knobby classes,
and wins on the Sho.rt Track in the 250cc A and
250cc C classes at the Lodi Cycle Bowl. Meiring
also won the 250cc C class on a 125cc machine!
"Winning a 250cc race on a 125cc was harder
than the other races put together/' Meiring said
after the race,
Frankie Garcia won the Pee Wee Stock classes in the IT and 'Short Track races and Bobby
Fong did the same in the Pee Wee Stock B classes. Both kids won their races wire to wire.
Nick Moore proved .himself as a versatile
short track and IT racer by winning both races.
The crafty youngster took the lead in both races
then cruised to victory on auto pilot.
An honorable' mention goes o.ut to Chris
Waite, who came all the way from Washington
state and put on quite a show. Waite placed first,
second and third in the 100cc Knobby Short
Track, BOcc A IT and 80cc A Short Track classes,
respectively.
In the Vet class, Mark Biscardi took the
boleshot with Eric Weisler in tow. For three laps
Weisler rode Biscardi's back tire before executing the perfect set up and pass around the tree
tum ahd never looked back. In a nice show of
sportsmanship, Weisler celebrated Bisca.rdj's
37th birthday after the race by buying pizza for
his competitor.
In the Pro / Am Short Track, Andy Tresser
and Rob Damron were a little too anxious and
were sent to the back row. Local rider Kevin
Bricker stayed calm, and despite an enonnous
amount of clutching and double clutching off
the line, took the win with room to spare.
