By Jenny Bayles Sffi.LWATER, OK, APR 5-6 Guy and Wanda Cooper hosted a successful weekend of racing, which was an AMA area qualifier, at their new Cooperland Motocross track, where Stillwater's own Kenny Bertram walked away with back-ta-back 250cc Pro moto wins. The first moto was action·packed as Suzuki's Brandon Lacey stole the holeshot with Bertram close behind, and Yamaha's Jason Owens third. Lacey and Bertram battled unlil the end of the second lap when Bertram made an unbelievable pass in the outside hairpin comer. Lacey managed to stay dose in second place until the fourth lap when Bertram put the distance between them with. obvious eaSe, while Justin Wohletz pressured Owens and eventually made the move into third, Moto two belonged to Bertram although he had to work a little harder for the first few laps of the race. Jason Owens grabbed the holeshot with Wohietz momentarily in second, Bertram third and Suzuki's James McDonald fourth. At' the end of the first lap Bertram was challenging Owens with McDonald trailing.
