Kawasaki Motors Corporation USA president Henry Noda announced a realignment of the way his company will do business on April 28. Noda has divisionalized the Irvine, Califomiabased company that is best known for its line of motorcycles and Jet Ski personal watercraft. The new organization will operate with a marketing division for each major product category motorcycle , wa tercraft, and a combination of all-terrain vehicles, utility and power products. The change will go into effect on May 1. Bob Moffitt, a 21-year Kawasaki employee and current vice president, has been appointed vice president, marketing and product management, motorcycle division. The watercraft division will be headed by current vice president of marketing, Barry Beehler. Beehler's new title is vice president,. marketing and product management, watercraft division. Mark Kelly will assume the position of director, marketing and product management, ATV futility/power products division. The consolidation of product management, marketing, and new business development functions within each division will, according to oda, assure a tightly focused approach to the company's long-term growth. "We've enjoyed three decades of successful operation here in the U.s. and we're now tailoring a very goal-oriented approach to dealing with the realities of the marketplace for the next decade," Yoda said. Paul Trotta, currently sales director, was made vice president of sales with responsibility for all product lines; he will be assisted in the company's ew Jersey office by Paul Bailey, Tony Murr and Jim Capp . Rodger Howe will move to the Irvine headquarters to assume duties as director of marketing for the ATVfutilities/power products division. Product management responsibility has been assigned to John Hoover as director, product management, motorcycle division; and to product managers Patrick Kelly and Jim Williams, Watercraft and ATV/utility/power products divisions, respectively. Current marketing d partment managers Mark Homchick, Carolyn O'Donnell and Vince Iorio have been named as marketing managers for those divisions. Dudley Perkins Jr., 1923-1997 D Dynojet has joined the WERA ational Endurance Series as the title sponsor of the Heavyweight Superstock class. In addition, Michelin has signed up as the title sponsor of the WERA ational Challenge Series 750cc Superstock class. Perkins was a second-generation Harley-Davidson dealer, having inherited the dealership from his father, Dudley Perkins Sr., who founded the shop in 1914. Dudley Jr. served as president of the Harley-Davidson Dealer Advisory council, California Motorcycle Dealers Association and the orthem California Harley-Davidson Dealer Association. The Perkins family name. has been synonymous with the Harley-Davidson brand and motorcycle racing for some 80 years. Perkins is survived by his wife Virginia; children William, Mary, James, Thomas, Dana Anne; and three grandchildren. Hooter's Restaurant of ewport Beach, California, will host its second season of "Showcase Bike Nights" starting on Thursday, May 8. The Bike Nights will be held on the first Thursday of the month from May 8 through November, from 7 to 10 p.m. Zero Gravity's Ben Bostrom, Erion Racing's Kevin Erion and Yoshimura will be displaying bikes during the May 8 event.
