" I' was going out on the second lap and 100 yards past the first turn my seat flew off," Krause explained. "J had to stop and fix it. I needed another half hour to catch up to those guys." Luckily for Krause an extra half hour was not needed to,capture second place. Staten surrendered the lead to Ondas on the third lap and then got caught speeding in the pits, ending his ride in a disqualification. With second going to Krause, KX500-pilot Tommy Roberts was awarded third followed by Higgins in fourth and Baehr, who once again worked his way through the pack to finish fifth. "It was really fun up there," Ondas said about the course. "I passed Rex (Staten) on the third lap, pulled away and just J'ode my own race."
