Racing's Ryan Huffman was sixth, followed by Antunez, Extreme/FMF's Cory Keeney and Pro Circuit/Answer's James Eckel. Emig and Bradshaw went side-byside into the first co~ner of the second 250cc heat, with Emig railing past Bradshaw for the lead. Bradshaw saw his opportunity for the lead go up in smoke in the very next comer when he tried a block pass on Emig that took them both to the ground, sending the duo to a semi. "Bradshaw's notorious for this and that's the way that he races," Emig said. "He's just hurting himself. He's not even in the race as far as I'm concerned." "I was just trying to pass Emig," explained Bradshaw. "He has done the same thing to me in the past - made real aggressive moves. The comer before that he made an aggressive move on me, and he left the door open so 1 tried to pass. Unfortunately, we both went down. The only way it could have been any better is if 1 would have stayed up and he went down. That's racing, as far as I'm concerned." Lu k assumed the lead after the incident, took some heat from Team Chaparral/Yamaha's Lawrence for a few laps, but eventually rode to the win. Hughes got around Lawrence in the whoops and the two finished second and third, respectively. Button finished a solid fourth, making the final cut to the main event. F&S Suzuki/Barr's Competition's Cliff Palmer rounded out the top five with Emig, SMP/Pro Circuit's Grayson Goodman, Kames Sport/Xtreme's Mike Katin Jr., Yamaha of Troy's Todd DeHopp and Streight's Motorsport's Jason Thomas closing out the top 10. F&S Suzuki's Jeff Hedden holeshot the first 250cc semi with Antunez, Ryan Huffman, Keeney and LaRocco in tow. Ryan Huffmann snagged the lead on the second lap and went on to win in front of Antunez and LaRocco. Hedden hung in there and finished fourth, while Keeny finished fifth. Eickel finished sixth, Smith/Xtreme's Anthony Pocorobba Jr. was seventh, Oehlhof ended up eighth and Team Greens Mike Jones got ninth - aU going to the Last Chance Qualifier for another shot at the main. Emig and Bradshaw went at it again in the second semi with Emig getting the nod into the first corner. Bradshaw hounded Emig for a few laps, and actually pulled alongside of the Kawasaki rider on the first lap in the whoops. But it was not to be. Emig he.ld off Bradshaw and the two finished one-two, as Goodman held his own to finish third. Palmer made the show by holding onto fourth and F&S Suzuki teammate Kevin Crine finished fifth. DeHoop, Thomas, Stillwater Suzuki's Kenny Bartram, East Side Suzuki's Josh DeMuth and Katin rounded out the top 10. Katin and Jones jumped out in front at the start of the LCQ and finished first and second, respectively, earning the last . two spots into the main. DeHoop hounded Jones for the final transfer spot, but to no avail. McGrath snatched his first holeshot of the year in the main event with Emig and Ward all over his rear fender. Antunez, Button and Reynard were packed closely behind the lead trio. Emig and McGrath went back and forth for a few corners, with Emig actually crossing the finish line on the first lap with the lead. McGrath saw his opportunity and struck soon after, taking Emig's line away with a block pass and jumping into the lead for good. (Right) Team Kawasaki's Jeff Emlg (3) leads McGrath (1) early in the main event. Emig finished second and still holds the points lead with 220, with just four rounds remaining In the series. (Below) Last week's first-time winner, Team Yamaha's Ezra Lusk, charged forward from a midpack start to finish on the podium again In third. Lusk has moved into a distant third in the point stsndlngs with 174. (Below) French teenager, Team Honda of Troy'S Stephane Roncada, won the first 125cc Supercross of his young career by outduellng last week's winner Ricky Carmichael. McGrath slowly pulled away for his second win of the season, but the race behind him for second through fourth kept the crowd's interest. Ward began to hound Emig for second and made the pass on lap six. Meanwhile A1bertyn, Button and Lusk were packed tightly and battling for fourth, not far from the fleeing Emig. Albee got by Lusk for fourth on .lap nine, but a crash dropped the South African to the back of the pack. Another crash shortly after in the whoops solidified his eventua1lOth-place finish. Ward began to fight arm pump and some botched lines, and Emig was soon vying for a pass back into second, trying to minimize his loss of championship points to McGrath. Emig made his move on lap 13 and started out after McGrath. But the only thing that changed was the cushion between himself and Ward. Whi.le Emig's position became comfortable, Ward was beginning to feel some heat from Lusk. He surrendered the position for good two laps from the finish. McGrath crossed the finish line with a five-second cushion on Emig, followed by Lusk and Ward. LaRocco finished fifth, holding off the charges of Bradshaw and Hughes, the pair working themselves through the pack from average starts. Button faded with a sore shoulder to finish eight.h with Lawrence charging to ninth. Albertyn rounded out the top 10. # 1:N Trans World Dome SI.
