-"EVENTS (Left) Team Chesterfield Yamaha's Bob Moore won the 125cc Pro at the final round of the GFI Winter MX Series South held at Glen Helen Raceway in San Bernardino, California. (Right) Jonathan Shimp won the Supermini and BOcc OpenlExpert classes and locked up the Supermini Championship for the series. the minicycle ranks after he scored a double class victory by winning the Mini Experts and Supermini divisions. Shimp mixed it up with Team NCY Yamaha's Sean Hamblin and Team R&D Racing Engines' Chris Rogers throughout all four motos of racing. The highlight of Shimp's day had to be the perfectly executed block-pass on the last lap of the Supermini race for the overall win on the day. "Radical" Ron Turner made a rare CaWornia appearance and came out on top of the Over 40 Expert class. Turner, the former king of Saddleback, shot down Kenny Zahrt in the first moto after a convincing pass. Suzuki rider Mike Webb crossed the line third but wa5 no match for Turner or Zahrt, while 'Wild" Chet Malito, for~ mer desert ace Brent Wallingsford and Jim Domann rounded out the top six. What about series points leader Mark White? A crash on the opening lap left him a disappointing 5eventh. But White got his revenge by winning the allimportant second moto, leaving Turner a bit confused at the finish. In the end, Turner won the overall (1-2) while Zahrt finished second (2-2), White third (7-1), Domann fourth (6-4) and Walling5ford fifth (5-5). Results Small Track FIT (4-6): 1. Alan Jiron (Yam); 2.
