In the Open class, Williams beat Mako rider Mark Envolsen and Yamaha-mounted Richard Sipp. Oregon's Bill Row made a rare appearance and carted off a win in the Over 40 class aboard a 1974 Honda CR250. Row, UlOugh, had to overtake Intermediate Doug Powell and his 1969 CZ360 in order to do so. Powell trailed Row in both contests, while CZ rider Dole Hodson netted second Intermediate. Yamaha jockey Dana Salsman scored the Amateur win ahead of Boltaco rider Rick Downing. Jon Morgan used a 1974 Yamaha MX250 to card wins in the Over 30 and 250cc Sportsman [ntermediate classes. Morgan cl1ased Honda riders Joe Casey and Chris Clark in the day's best battle in moto one and finished behind an impressive Clark in the second contest, which Casey did not finish. Casey's mechanical woes continued in the Over 30 class while well ahead of the field in moto two. Morgan stole the lead and capped off his double win. Former Canadian Motocross Champion Terry Hyde brought out his sano Triumph 650powered Rickman and carted off a win in the highly competitive Pre-'70 class. Hyde, despite running on one cylinder in moto one, beat all comers. His Rickman performed much better the second time out, beating CZ rider John Ulver, who carved through traffic to chase down the friendly Canadian.
