(Adverti_""tJ 26th ANNUAL World Mini Grand Prix ALL NEW TRACK by Brayton Clark he 26th Annual World Mini Grand Prix will be presented in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 3 through April 6,1997 on an all-new track. The track is located on the north end of Las Vegas and offers convenient access to all the grea t entertainment centers and casinos the city has to offer. There are 32 different age and ability classifications presented for Pee Wees up through 125cc and 250cc Pro classes. T GIANT PRO PURSE In addition to the $20,000 plus con- tingencies that the factories are offering, NMA awards a $3,000.00 purse to the pros covering aU four classes available. The pro class at the World Mini Grand Prix has always been the "showcase" for the up and coming pros beginning with Jeff Ward and up through McGrath, Windham, Huffman, Em:ig and other prominent riders on the national scene. FACTORY CONTINGENCIES Over $50,000 is being offered by the four major motorcycle factories for the 'various classes. KTM and ACTION are joining the award program with US Savings Bond awards for the Pee Wee classes. KTM will award a total of $5500.00 in bonds to the littlest racers as educational awards for those finishing in the top five of each class riding the KTM50 . ACTION is awarding $4,375.00. In addition, over 25 of the top aftermarket companies will be at the World Mini Grand Prix with displays, awarding products and supporting NMA's racing activities. CLASSES FOR ALL In addition to all the motorcycle classes, both stock and modified for all levels of ability, the prime classes are the 60cc and 80cc classes offered based on age groups. Gates will open at noon on Wednesday April 2, allowing the sea of motorhomes, vans, trucks and displays . into the park. Post entries will be taken between 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM Wednesday for those who have not mailed in their entries and again on Thursday morning between 7:00 and 11:00 AM. Practice for aU classes will begin at noon on Thursday and run through conclusion. Racing will begin each day at 8:00 AM, Friday though Sunday with the championship motos scheduled for Sunday, followed by the awards presentation. The Friday and Saturday activities will conclude in time to allow everyone to enjoy the exci ting Las Vegas night life. With the all new track facility and the outstanding contingencies, prizes and awards, this year's World Mini Grand Prix promises to be the premier event of . 1997. No advance events or practice is scheduled for the aU new track which will make it equal to all.
