but the race of the night was between
Eastside Suzuki's Demuth and F&S Racing's Yezek. Davey seemed faster than
Josh everywhere except over the finishline jump. Demuth would clear the
triple while Yezek doubled, then had to
jump the last jump before the turn.
Demuth edged Yezek for fourth, and
Chester was fifth.
"You have to get a good start to do
well here because the track is so tight,"
Carsten said. 'Tve been getting good
starts all weekend but someone always
got a better one. Tonight it was my turn
to win."

finished for the weekend, the victim of a
first-turn crash. Hedden edged ahead of
Carsten. Neese got around the leaders in
the grandstand whoops. Hedden had a
problem in the ASK whoops stalling Sellards' drive, opening the door for Yezek,
who dived under Sellards to take over
fourth before the white flag. Neese and
Carsten were alone up front and Hedden held off Yezek for the last lap to
secure third. Sellards finished in fifth.
Neese was pumped after his second
win, especially after having to win his
last chance qualifier to make the main.
"I really don't mind having to come
through the last chance," he said. "1
need all the track time 1 can get to get
used to the tight racing in these arenas."

COLUMBUS, OR, DEC. 6-8
eam Green's Brock Sellards and
Jim's Cycle Sales-backed Jim
Neese each claimed two Pro-class
main-event victories at rounds four,
five and six of the Action Sports Arenacross Series, sponsored by ASK
Powersports.
Neese started off with a sweep of Friday's 125ee and 250cc Pro finals. Bromley
Suzuki-backed Barry Carsten finished
second in both classes. After Sellards took
Saturday's 12Scc main, Carsten put in a
winning ride in the 250cc main. Davey
Yezek picked up the win in Sunday's
125cc main ahead of Sellards, but Brock
came back strong in the 250cc final to pick
up his second win of the weekend.
Team Green's Jeff Gibson was
unbeatable in 125cc B and Schoolboy
action, winning all six main events
ahead of Ben Riddle, who carded five
second-place finishes and a third.

FRIDAY 125cc
Neese took the holeshot ahead of
Carsten. Jimmy Wilson ran in third and
Yezek was mired back in the pack.
Yezek's teamm.ate Shaun Perolio was in
fourth, leading a pack of Suzuki riders
including'Pocorobba, Jim Chester and
Eastside Suzuki's Tommy Collier. Team
Green riders Sellards and Charlie Dunaway were trying to work their way into
the top five, but passing was difficuJ t on
the tight track.
Perotio got his F&S Racing Suzuki
past Wilson, while Neese and Carsten
opened open up a big gap. Sellards
passed Pocorobba in the big sweeper
after the finish-line jumps. He and
Pocorobba ran down Wilson, who was
falling off the pace. Yezek's chance at a
top-five finish ended with a broken
chain before the halfway point. Neese
took the win ahead of Carsten, Perolio,
Sellards and Pocorobba.
FRIDAY 250cc
Carsten and F&S Racing-ba.cked Jeff
Hedden blasted to the front ahead of
Neese and Sellards. Teammates Yezek
and Perolio were in a battle with Josh
Demuth and Mike Kalin. Pocorobba was
Sellards came through the first turn
at the front of the field ahead of Hedden, Yezek, Carsten and Chester, and
ran away from the field. Hedden fell on
the third lap in the turn before the finish-line jumps,. slowing Yezek and
Carsten and adding to Sellards' advantage. Yezek and Carsten battled behind
Sellards, while Chester and Kalin were
locked in a race for fourth. Yezek pulled
away from Carsten and caught Sellards
with one lap to go. Yezek tried every
line he could find but Sellards kept it
together for the win. Carsten took a
solid third ahead of Chester and Kalin.
"When 1 got the holeshot 1 just tried
to ride smooth," Sellards said. "1 knew
Davey was coming. On the next to last
lap Davey stuck a wheel inside me in
the turn before the fi nish line, so on the
last lap 1 rode inside so he couldn't pass
me there."
SATURDAY 250cc
Carsten was up front at the start and
stormed away from the field. Neese's
bad luck conlinued as he got taken out
in the first turn. Perollo chased Carsten,
Mike Jones, Giff Palmer and Jeromy
Buehl drove all night to make round six
of the series. Jones also came to compete
in the National Jumping Contest and
thrilled the crowd with his no-hands
landing, a jump he debuted in Columbus last year.
Yezek pulled out all the stops to get
away from the field. Sellards held off
Palmer and Hedden. Carsten, Dunaway, Chester and Perollo were trying
to catch the front-runners. Chester fell
in the turn after the finish-line jumps,
and Jones and Bowen were at the rear
after first-turn problems. Yezek, Sellards and Palmer were flying out front
and Dunaway had a hold on fourth.
Carsten, Demuth and Perollo were racing wheel to wheel but Carsten rode
well to hold off the two young guys.
Near the end of the moto, a lapped
rider went out wide to give Yezek
room. Unfortunately, Yezek had gone
to the outside and nearly hit the wall.
Sellards took advantage to challenge
for the lead but Yezek held on for the
win. Sellards, Palmer, Dunaway and
Carsten rounded out the top five.
SUNDAY 250cc
F&S riders Hedden and PeroHo
shared the lead at the start. Sellards held
third early, but Jones was making up for
a midpack start and moved into fourth
'on the first lap ahead of Carsten, Yezek
and Bowen. Sellards passed Perotio in
the ASK whoops to close on Hedden.
Bowen outran Carsten through the
grandstand whoops to take fourth, and
Sellards tapped Hedden going into the
whoops to take over the lead.
Perolio jumped the finish-line triple
to pass Hedden, but Hedden passed
Perotio in the sweeper to retake second.
Hedden began to make small mistakes
and Perolio was able to take over second
through the ASK whoops. As Sellards
took his second win of the weekend,
Perollo took second. Hedden fell on the
last lap and dropped back to 10th, continuing his bad-luck streak. Jones held
off Bowen for third and Carsten
