lead by the third lap. Despite getting
away just inside the top 10, Tichenor
had taken control of second place early
in the race and was soon carving away
at Pocorobba's lead. It took Tichenor
about six laps to catch and pass
Pocorobba.
"He (Pocorobba) was going so fast
for so long, then he seemed to slow
down and let me by," Tichenor said.
"l felt good until near the end 01 the
race, then 1 just couldn't hold the pace
any longer," Pocorobba said of his laterace fade.
Still, Pocorobba rode a soHd race and
finished second ahead of Carsten, Keith
John on and Andre Pene.
In the first Vet Pro moto, Pat Barton
grabbed the holeshot but soon surrendered hi top spot to a battling Billy
Liles, Alan Andreu and Earl May. Liles
and Andreu knocked it out for the lead
for a while until May passed them both
and said "See ya."
Mathew Crown held the early lead in
the second moto and would duke it out
the whole way with first-moto winner
May. May chased down Crown and put
the move on him only to see Crown pass
him right back.
