.RIDING IMPRESSION Gas Enducross 250 By Cameron Coatney as Gas is a small motorcycle company in Gerona, Spain, that has been producing world-class trials bikes for quite a few years with striking success in the '90s. In the hands of the legendary Jordi Tarres, Gas Gas won the highly competitive FIM World Championship Observed Trial Series in 1993, '94, and '95, and Tarres finished a dose third in '96 after a slow start in the series. Fellow factory riders Bruno Camozzi finished fifth and Amos Bilbao finished sixth. Not too bad for a company that produces about 4,000 bikes a year. (Above left and above) The Gas Gas Enducross 250 is an extremely potent enduro bike that . excels on grass tracks and in slimy, rutted conditions. (Lett) The Enducross is nimble and quick on the trail. The suspension is set up tor roots and· rocks, but stili has a good resistance to bottoming. Riders over 170 pounds probably will want to go to stiffer springs or valvlng mods. - 16
