One of the happiest riders at the end of the first day's run was Steve Crevier, who had parked his Smokin' Joe's Bonda for the weekend and traveled all the way from Vancouver, British Columbia, to take part in his first-ever dual sport run. "1 started riding motocross when 1 was 15, so I'm used to the dirt, and 1 always wanted to do some sort of desert ride," said Crevier, who was aboard a Bonda XR400 for the day. "It was everything 1 expected. [ saw some great cenery and [ got to throttle it a bit. Road riding is fun but it's against the aw to hang it out and really have fun on the street, so it's great to get out in the dirt where you can let that aggres.ve side out. "My only problem was that I crashed before 1 even made it to the start today," said Crevier, with a grin. "1 stayed at a friend's house near the start last night and, when I was riding over this morning, 1was a little slow to throttle off over a piece of sage. I crashed and hurt my ribs, but I'm fine." 9.
