front flat in the last woods section, and ended up dropping a nine. Cuningham had some trouble with the slower traffic and dropped 10 points. Harris, Nichols and Chancey finished the section with two lIs and a 12, respectively. Ramey won the tie breaker and Smith settled for first AA, second overall, with Cuningham rounding out the top three, ·dropping 23 points, for first VetA. "I had a really good race going on until I noticed I had a front flat in that last section," Ramey said. "It was hard to tum with that tire rolling on the rim." Temperatures were very pleasant all day, but there was enough water on the ground to raise the humidity a point or two. The race was a tough one, but it also was very fun. Riders on the later rows had difficulty getting around slower and stuck riders, but they also had great traction, something the early rows did not have. All of the early starters chewed up the slippery trail and got it down to good dirt for the later guys. Tommy Veator secured fourth overall and first 200cc A with a score of 25. So far, Veator has been unbeatable. Johnny McCoy on a Ray's-sponsored Kawasaki smoked in the 250cc A class with a 27, taking the win over Doug Masencoup with a 30. McCoy was fifth overall. Robbie Neeley once again captured the win in the Senior A class with a 30, followed by Joe Royal with 37. In the Open A class, Mitch McCree took the win with a 31. John Burgard was second with a 35. Huff Burton really hauled in the Four-Stroke class, taking the win with a 30. In the B classes, Chad Coleman won the 250cc class with a 35, Jeff Collins took second. Raymond Cottonwood won the 200cc class with a 42. The Vet B class earned some respect with Dan Jackson capturing the win with a score of 35, seven points better than secondplace winner John Carver. The 250cc C class was won by Chris " Smith with a score of 46. Reggie Yarbar took first in the 200cc class with a 48, and Sue Heath won in the Women's class with a score of 86.
