World Championship Supel'bik~ Road Race Series Round 11: Albacete, Spain \0 0\ 0'1 ...... \0' ...... 1-<' (l) .g ... u o 24 By Johan Vandeckerkhove Photos by Gold & Goose ALBACETE, SPAIN, OCT. 6 here was simply no stopping Troy Corser in Albacete. Corser and his Promotor Ducati had a perfect weekend in the south of Spain, taking pole position on the first practice day before winning both races convincingly. Meanwhile, his main title rival Slight could do no better than ninth and sixth as the New Zealander was plagued with both the flu and tire problems. Ducati Corse's John Kocinski and Yamaha's Colin Edwards Il put in strong efforts in Spain, joining Corser both times on the podium. Edwards, in his comeback ride from a badly broken collarbone, was second in the first race with Kocinski third, and the pair of Americans swapped those positions in race two. Muzzy Kawasaki's Simon Crafar had a good weekend, putting together two fourth-place finishes, while Edwards' Yamaha teammate Wataru Yoshikawa had his best European outing of the year with a 6-5 tally. Castrol Honda's Carl Fogarty did lit- tIe to enhance his championship chances as he could muster up nothing better than a 5-7 outing. Muzzy Kawasaki's Anthony Gobert, meanwhile, was a no-show in Spain after failing to get medical clearance from his doctor to race. He was replaced on the Muzzy team by Australian Martin Craggill. So with just one round and two races remaining in the chase for the 1996
