Called the ZRX1100, the bike is set to be introduced as a 1997 'model, though it probably won't be available in the United States until 1998. The liquid-cooled engine is based upon the one found in the GPZll00, though it has been reworked to deliver more midrange power. It is said to produce roughly 120 horsepower at 9,500 rpm. The most interesing feature with regard to the chassis is the braced aluminum, tube swingarm. (fitted with a wide, 5.5-inch rear wheel), though the rest of the chasis appears to be pretty standard stulf. The twin rear shocks are fully adjustable (spring preload, compression and rebound damping) as is the conventional fork. Wet weight is expected to be in the 500-pound range. While the styling is retro superbike all the way down to its bikini fairing, braking is right in line with the latest trend: stopping chores at the front will be handled by a pair of six-piston calipers putting the squeeze on floating discs. Price in Germany is expected to be below $13,500.
