LAKE MILLS, WI, AUG. 11
Coming off a top-10 finish in the 250cc A ModiHeel class at Loretta Lynn's Amateur National
Championships in Tennesee, Eron Ezenns put
his bike at the checkers first in four motos, en
route to overall victories in both the 125cc A and
250cc A dasses at Aztalan.
Ezerins grabbed the holeshot and led both
motos of the 12Sce A from gate to checkers.
However, hounding him in both motos and
waiting for a mistake was the duo of Ryan De
Groot and Jason Warner, who finished second
and third, respectively, in both motos.
tn moto two, Ezerins and DeG.root pulled
away from the 16-rider 6eld, leaving a dogfight
for third between Warner and Roy Naizger.
Nafzger, one of the few ironmen riding three
dasses, took seventh overall in the l25cc A, first
overall in Veteran A, and fifth overall in the
Over 25 Masters dass.
The Over 25 Masters class had more riders
than gates, making the drop of the gate and the
6rst tum crucial ~ponents in detennining the
fastest most aggressive and most consistent riders.
Bobby Raduenz powered his CR500 to 1-2
moto finishes and first overall, complementing a
sixth overall in the Veteran A and second overall
in the Open dass, joining Nafzg<:r in the elite
ironman club.
James Heilman took the Veteran A mot<>-one
hol.eshot, followed by Roy Nafzger and Chuck
Kingstad. Kingstad quickly dropped off the pace
held by Nafzger, Heilman, Eriks Ezerins,
Raduenz, Tim Bares and Todd Schmitz on a
seemingly oUlpowered CRl25. After six laps of
close racing and po.sition swapping, it was
Nafzger, Schmitz, Bares and Heilman rounding
