to the front," an uncharacteristically quiet Gobert said. Slight came home fifth. "I didn't have too bad a race. 1 made one mistake when Neil Hodgson crashed in front of me," he said. "I was concerned about hitting him and 1 lost a little bit of ground and then 1 didn't go down enough gears for the next comer and 1 lost the tow to the riders in front. Considering everything, it went okay for me here. The next five tracks will be good for me. 1 was very . happy to be able to keep up with the others, but 1 was losing concentration because of the pain. Now 1 want my left foot to rest a little bit, so the knuckle can grow back." Suzuki's Kirk McCarthy finished 10th. "I was battling with (Mike) Hale and to be quite honest 1 think 1 held him up," he said. "Once 1 went wide and he carne past, but 1 got back on the inside. 1 thought he was going to get me on the last lap, but he did not. 1 had kept seeing people going down so 1 decided to try and stay smooth and get some points. It was nice to end the weekend on a higher note." Hale finished just behind the Suzuki rider. "Despite the fact that the track is very similar to some American tracks, 1 didn't really feel comfortable," he said. "I changed the ride height, but that didn't really come off. It is pretty frustrating to battle for sixth or seventh on certain tracks and to be very far back on other tracks."
