In the penultimate lap, Carmichael went ahead for good on the long back section with a spectacular jump-pass. Brown and Sellards finished 2-3, and Horton was able to recover to fifth behind Kevin Walker. The second 125cc A moto was all Cannichael's. Brown stayed steady in second, while Horton and Walker dueled for third. Horton prevailed, followed over the finish line by Walker and Sellards. Horton holes hot the first 250cc A moto, pressed by Carmichael Late in the first lap, Carmichael fell in the woods again, rejoining the race near the back of the pack. Ward took over the lead just before the halfway point, and Brown climbed from sixth to second, displacing Horton yet another place to third. Brown owned the second 250cc A moto, in control for all seven laps while the rest of the racing action took place to the south of him. Ward dispatched Jim Chester to take over third behind Horton, dogging Horton until halfway. Once in second, Ward set off after Brown, leaving Horton to deal with Carmichael's advances. With a lap and a hall to go, Charmichael made good on a pass, leaving Horton in fourth and closing in on Ward. Time ran out, and Ricky finished in third behind Brown and Ward, with Horton and Walker rounding out the moto's top five. RMullII 50 (4-6), I. 8
