As in many states with such programs, the money deposited in the account would have been used exclusively for a statewide motorcyCle safety program to provide affordable and readily available training to motorcyclists. According to a press release issued by the Willow Springs Motorcycle Club, road racer Chuck Graves is the leading money winner at Willow thus far in 1996 with earnings of $4415. Curtis Adams is second on the list with $3875. There are five rounds remaining in the 12-round WSMC series. Steve Lamson: Cycle . News Rider of the Month B Four-time World Champion Eddie Lawson has been replaced on the Galles .lndyCar team by Davy Jones, according to a story in USA Today. Team owner Rick Galles 'said the move isn't permanent but that "Lawson has asked out of his contract." Jones finished 12th in the Michigan 500 on July 28. According to a press release issued by WERA, Fram screw-on filters are again legal for competition in WERA road racing. Information provided to WERA by FTM Enterprises notes that the filters are being produced in North American by their orginal Canadian manufacturer. This month alone, Lamson, on his Mike Gosselaar-tuned 1-800-Collectl Fox 1 Honda-backed CR125, has won every 125cc National, inel uding the just-finished Troy National in Ohio. The week before that, Lamson won at Unadilla and two weeks before at South.wick. And just for good measure, Lamson also won the previous round at Red Bud (in June). For these reasons, we unanimously voted Steve Lamson as July's Cycle News Rider of the Month. Up to this point, Lamson has won seven of the nine 125cc Nationals held thus far and is well on his way to his second straight title. He currently leads Yamaha's Kevin Windham by 108 points, 426-379.
