Chamberlin top man at Badlands Hillclimb By Ken James MOUNTAlNVlEW, WY,jUNE22-23 Shannon Chamberlin earned the right to carry the title of Wyoming State Champion for 1996 after he put his 1500cc Harley Davidson over the top with the fast time of 16.180 seconds thereby winning- the showdown at the Badlands motorcycle hillclimb. Travis Whitlock had the fastest time up the SOO-foot hill at 1S.650 seconds. With a total of five first-place and two second-place finishes, Whitlock had a better than average payday. George Sauer defended his number-one plate in North American Hillclimbers Association events with a 48S-foot ride in the Over 50 class, enough to earn him a victory in the event. Jeremy Padget scored a first place in the 250cc Stock and 2S0cc Modified classes, and then went on to place a very respectable third in the Pro Modified 601cc Open class. Dusty Beer clinched the win in the 0-600cc . class, as well as the winner-take-all Trophy Dash.
