Suzuki Endurance pitted at 2:31, getting two new Michelins and fuel in just 34 seconds. Batey handed off to Stanton, who retu rned to the track in cruise mode, turning steady 1:27-28 laps times. Arclight meanwhile appealed to be riding hard, trying to dis tance itself from SBR, who closed the ga p with a rider-and-fuel-only pit at the 2:07 mark. SBR's cha rge went adrift as Evon Semoff slowed dramatically when rattling noises were heard coming from the engine. The team retired at 2:37, later finding a broken clutch basket and p ieces suspected to be in the oil pan. This ga ve Triple R' s Mike Reed third overall. Third-hour resul ts showed no change in the top three slots, TKN Ray Team Suzuki ran fourth and Performance Motor sports in fift h . Stanton closed out the hour for Team Suzuki Endurance, bringing the squad its fourth straight victory of the year. While taking no chances, he did allow a victory wheelie as he took the checkered flag. "It was a case of point and squirt riding," Batey said. " It was a fun track, and a very sa fe track in terms of runoff room." Stanton mentioned that he focused on finishing rather than chasing a lap rune and stressing getting points toward a season championship.
