Kocinski fin is h ed third, which was
good enough to secure his lead in g positio n in th e point standings. "I should be
happy about today; I fin ished twic e on
the podium, " th e fo rmer 250cc Grand

have tons of work to d o." Simon Crafa r
finished fourth after a lonely race, stating simply , " Sa m e old problem: not
enough top sp ee d."
Edwards was fifth after having dealt
with Casoli in the second half of the
race. "Fo r the second race I did not w ant
anything changed, e ven if I knew that
the geometry should have been
changed," Edwards sa id . "I just d id not
want the b ike to become completely d ifferent."
After a disappointing non-finish in
race o n e, H ale crossed the lin e eighth. " I
had a bad start," said the Texan. "Lin dholm and I had been drafting each oth er
almost the whole rac e, but we couldn't
really work together to try and catch up
th e guys in front. Again . I learned very
much thi s w eekend ."
Behind H al e, Suzuki-mounted Kirk
McCarthy was ninth. "I got off th e line

Phillis took two points. "A pretty
lo nely race, with a few hairy moments
on th e o il in the chicane," the veteran
racer said. "I am happy that I finished
14th. This is n o t th e worst result in my
ca ree r. In 19 90 I fin ished 15th in
Mosport an d I th ought that th e world
