(Left) The Kawasaki KX250SR Jeff
Matlasevlch rode to victory looks nearly
identical to last year 's factory bike except for
the color, having dropped the purple tank
and radiator shrouds for traditional green
plastic. The motor Is supposedly completely
different than the '95 factory bike .
(Below) Many of the bikes were seen with
these " high tech " devices - wooden sticks
safety wired to the handlebar grips to give
the riders a better handhold In the wet
conditions.
(Above) The Yamaha VZ250M featured no
obvious major changes, though a new
case-reed engine and a leaf suspension
system Is being tested In Europe.
(Left) Ron Tichenor rode th is factory
Suzuki RM250WS at the series-opener.
The yellow and black machine loo ks very
sim ilar to last year 's bike , though it does
have new frame dimensions.
