On the run to the fla g, Sadowski w as ab le to ba rely stay in front. • " I co u ld n ' t tell if 1 was in th ird o r no t," Sadowski said . Va lv oline Su zuki's Dave' Stanton was part o f a four-rider fight for fourth, with Pol en, Batey, and Scott Zampach a ls o taking part. P o len was i n fr ont o f th e g ro u p halfway through the restart, then began t? lose g ro u n d . Stanton was by o n la p fi ve, the n Zampach on the fi nal l ap : Zarnpach was aboard a borrowed Zl ock Racing Kawasaki Z X-7 a fter his Saxon Triumph broke in pra cti ce (see Briefl y ...), Polen ended up seventh, one better than Tray Batey, at the tail of the pack. Graves Motorsports' Gl enn Szarek was by himself in ni n th and Cycles 128's Brett Metzger filled out th e top 10. RACE TWO The weather in the se co n d race was no better, but Kling was. Though it took h im more th a n a lap to get o u t front, once he was the r e it w a s n o contest. Without an interruption, and while the others diced with each other , h e was ab le to dictate the p ace for the entire 12lap di st ance and it w asn 't ever close. He built up better th an a 14-sec ond lead by the ha lfwa y m ark and w a s o n cru ise ' con tro l for th e d u ration. H ad he wanted, h~ cou ld . h av e am assed a considerably bi gger lea d .
