Yama ha rid er Ed Derda led the first Op en class heat race until th e las t lap w hen h e crashed, bringin g the acti on to an en d . Bob Ingle picked up the first hea t win , w hile Cliff Keith wo n the second . The BOec A main had Ingle on the pole position. Much as they d id in the heat race, Ingle and Light spen t the entire IS laps side by side. Light stu ck a wheel ou t fron t com ing out of the final tum, but Ingle came away the "inner by a nose. Ingle also top ped the 12See A main, where he beat (Right) Ryan Dic kson (47) chas es Dale Whel an (111) in Vintage Over 3~ raci ng at the Great Sier ra Vista Motocross Pipe Shootout In Sierra Vista , Arizona_Whelan and Dickson were first In the Novice and Intermediate classes, respectively. (Below right) Jeff Harsha came from behind to win the Open A main event at the Gold Beach Short Track in Orego n. brother Travis Ingle, who rode a Kaw asak i, and Suzu ki rider Amy Light, the thi rd-p lace finisher. Rotax-mounted Keith sat the po le position for the two-row , Hl-rider Open A main and lau nched to the front of the pack followed by Cliff Helm s, Bob Ingle, Bob Klum and Harsha, who was a late arrival and missed his qualifier, thus forcing him to start at the pack of the fie-ld.
