Just ask Doug Stone, Gio Tedesco or any of the 332 entered riders that made up a 64-race format during the Mike Kidd AMA Amateur Arenacross hosted at Will Rogers Coliseum. The morning kicked 011 with 35 heat races , lollowed by 10 semi s, and ended with 19 main eve nts . Riders fro m all over Texas, in addition to Okla homa, New Mexico. Ind iana. Mirmesota , Louis iana. Co lorado. Kansas. Ar ka nsas. Iowa, Misso ur i, and Illinois converged on the Lone Star State. Th e on ly do u ble-class win ne r was 125cc Op en and 250cc Open racer Stone. Th e most impressi ve ride was by Team Gree n/ Pro Circuit / Axo-sponso red Tedesco, the I2Sec Schoo lboy winner. The 125ee Ope n main saw Stone ou t lro n t Irom sta rt to finish. James Ford and Jaso n Eckhoff raced in sec ond an d thi rd with Eckhoff taking second away from Ford at the end 01 the first lap, lollowed by Keith Karstedt, who had passed Ford . Hagen blasted past Ford through the whoops on lap three and then hunted down Karstedt. Stone was untouchable as he exited the whoops befo re Eckhoff sta rted the same section.
