SATURDAY NIGHT Bueh l contin ued his winning efforts in the 125cc main even t on Saturday as he led Gadd is and Coope r o n to th e co u rse. Gaddis nailed the turn to th e Red Dog Triple and took over the lead with Buehl in second as a pileup on the landing benn saw Cooper, Bogard and Cliff Adoptante on the ground. Gaddis kept the lead into lap eight until Buehl h ammered through the whoops and took th e lead for good . Palmer and DeHoop waged a heated ba ttle for third, but it was DeHoop who took the brass ring and raced into third, w here he fini sh behind Buehl and th e second-placed Gaddis. ~' 1 go t a good start and made a mistake in the whoops, and Jimm y got by me," an elated Buehl said. "Then Jimmy made a mist a ke, and I was able to ge t back around him." Buehl sizzled again in the 250Cc main as Gaddis and Palmer chased him in to the whoops, but Gaddis had the Red Dog Triple d own pat and passed for the lead as the riders lau nched off it. Coo per and DeHoop battled for fourth u n til DeHoop stuffed Cooper in the turn to the trip le and took over fourth. Gaddis wa s focused and flawles s as he led the 20-lap ma in, lea ving Buehl and Palmer to battl e over second. Buehl mad e a few mistakes on his landi ngs tha t allowe d Pal mer to st ay up with him. Sixteen laps in to the race, Palmer fell in the whoops, opening the d oor to DeHoop for third. Buehl kicked in the afte rburners and began to reel in Gad dis, but with onl y three short laps to go, Buehl was un able to catch his team mate. Gaddis took the win followed by Buehl a nd DeHoop. "I'm very happy to come out on top . I've been wor king really hard," Gaddis said in the winner's circle.
