Jarvis debuts Scor a Eas G raham Jarvis, the British rider who fronts the tiny French Scorpa factory in International trials competition, gave the radical-looking 1996 Easy model (right) a sensational debut at the ovember 17 Montpelier Indoor Stadium Trial, held in Montpelier, France. In the process, Jarvis whipped seventime World Champion Jordi Tarres! Tarres had protested about the dangerous nature of some of the Montpelier sections and it was Jarvis - very inexperienced at the indoor game - who drew the short straw and had to ride the six sections first. Amazingly, he completed the opening lap with a single dab and led the field after the first circuit. . "That surprised everyone, even myself," said quiet man Jarvis. The 3000-strong French crowd were right on the Brit as he continued to impress on the new Scorpa, but it was 1991 World Champion Tomrni Ahvala who got his act together to go on and easily win the event aboard his factory Fantic Section. Ahvala dropped just seven marks total, while Jarvis got the better of home favorite Bruno Camozzi for second with an 18. Tarres was fourth with a surprisingly off 30 marks, while Marcel Justribo, Kenichi Kuroyama and Doug Lampkin rounded out the field.
