regained the lead with a mighty leap at the long
triple jump. The threesome was reshuffled again
when Bailey tried to pa s and crashed instead.
Shue found himself out front, and he held on for
the moto win over Bailey. Humphrey did not
finish.
Humphrey holeshot the second moto and
claimed the moto win. Meanwhile, Bailey and
Shue wrestled over second position until Sh.ue
got out of shape on the tripl~jump landing. Bailey's pair of second-place finishes netted top
honors while Shue finished .) w7 to net fourth

Northrop jets at
Riverfront CMA Motocross
By John Sliva
MARYSVILLE, CA, OCT. 14
Jeff Northrop raced his Kawasaki to a two-moto
sweep at the California Motocross Association's
first Fall Series event at Riverfront park.
Kawasaki contingency money, "Dealer Dollars"
and other contingency goodies helped draw 150
riders to the first of five scheduled events in the
CMA Series.
In one of the night's better races, Jarrad Fi her led the novice beginner 125cc racers through
the first lap, followed by Northrop, Calvin
Andlovec, Phil Segundo, Jason Ellis, Jess Medley
and the rest of the field.
Second-placed orthrop attacked relentlessly. and eventually Fisher bobbled, allowing
Northrop to slip by on lap two. As Northrop
began to pull away, Fisher, Andlovec, Segundo
and Medley engaged in a fight for the remaining
top five spots. By lap three, Fisher had a lock on
second, using lapped riders to good advantage,
placing them between his Suzuki and the other
racers. After five tough laps, orthrop took the
checkered flag, chased by Fisher, Andlovec,
Ellis, and Michael McCrary.
1\orthrop holeshot moto two, with Fisher,
Andlo\'ec, Ellis and Segundo in tow. orthrop
and Fisher quickly pulled away from the field,
with Andlovec in third. The order was set for
the top three, but the battle raged behind
between Ellis, Segundo, Medley and McCrary.
After five laps, Ellis secured fourth with Medley
fifth.
