French Cup Trial
By' Joann Galbreath
NORDEN, CA, OCT. 22
Beta rider Howard Galbreath won the sixth
annual French Cup' at the Donner Ski Ranch,
te,king his first .win of the season.
Ten grueling sections on a two-mile loop
kept the Expert~lass riders on their pegs and
tight technical turns and big steps were the
order of the day, but Galbreath stepped up to
take the win with 62 points. Second was another
Beta rider, Dan Suffin, with 70 points.
One of the most impressive rides was in the
Sportsman A class by Rusty Firanzi, who only
had eight points for the day. Firanzi had the
lowest score of the day, and the lowest loop of
one point. The Sportsman B class was won by
Justin Oakley, the youngest rider in the class.
The Senior Sportsman A division was won
by Hawley Slayton, with a low score of 16
points. Bert Fulwider also had a great ride
with only 26 points and a smile on his face.
The Senior Amateur class is always neck and
neck, but Erwin went the extra mile for his
win. Jim Dana was right there behind by only
six points.
