By the time Summers got ~lf righted Plessinger was on him. "Once you fall down it takes some of the energy out of you," admitted Summers. "1 did the best 1 could but Scott waS riding really well." With SUTIlmers' momentum temporarHy shot, Plessinger made short work of the Honda pilot and took the lead for good. When they rode into the barrels to be scored at the halfway point, Plessinger was already 20 seconds clear of his rival. The lead would grow to 30 seconds on the fifth lap and 35 on the sixth. When the white flag came out after seven laps Plessinger was 50 seconds clear. Summers made a valiant charge on the last lap, but he could only cut Plessinger's lead in half before the checkered flag fell on the season and his title hopes. "Summers started catching me there for a while, but 1 picked it back up and put some time' on him before he could get me in his sights," said Plessinger. "1 spent the whole last lap riding fast but trying not to make any mistakes or not nod. Yamaha-mounted Robert Bennett, 12th overall in the series, finished 10th on the day. The '95 GNCC Series Championship marked the fourth title of Plessinger's career. He won two AMA ational Hare Scrambles title (1989 and '92) to go with his two GNCC crowns ('94 and '95). In fact, with two laps to go 1 was 20 seconds ahead of Scott and some lapper fell right in front of me and 1 went down. I think that was the only time 1 fell down all day." Conner checked into the barrels three minutes behind Summers for third, while Norton was another three minutes back in fourth, followed by Blackwell. ·Sixth and seventh overall went to the Keegan brothers - Brian and Frank.
