The FIM has announced that the 1996 Bol d'Or endurance race date has been changed to avoid a conflict with the Catalunyan Grand Prix. The Bol d'Or, which was originally scheduled for September 14-15, will now be held on September 21-22. In addition, the FIM also says that the endurance round scheduled for Assen in Holland will be run in two heats of eight hours each and that the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be run on April 6-7 - not April 13-14 as originally reported. Grand Prix racing will return to Perris Raceway in perris, California, on December 3 with the Prairie Dogs M/C running the race. According to the Prairie Dogs, the race will be held on a three-mile course and will last for 45 Clash of (yesterday's) motocross titans T minutes. Memorial services were held at Rose Hills in Whittier, California, on Monday, October 30 for Marilynn Oxley, 56, wife of International Speedway promoter Harry Oxley and mother of 1987 U.S. National Speedway Champion Brad Oxley, who died at her home in San Clemente, California, on Saturday, October 28. Mrs. Oxley had been a pillar at International Speedway from its inception in 1969. "Back in '69, my dad got this whole speedway thing rolling and my mom worked with him," Brad Oxley said. "We promoted three weekly tracks that spanned from Costa Mesa to Irwindale to Ventura. My dad was the one at all the tracks yelling at everybody and keeping the show going, but my mom was the one behind the scenes doing all the paperwork and making sure that everybody got paid. For the first 10 or 12 years she did it all by her- he 10th.Annual White Bros. Vet World Championships will be held November 4-5 at San Bernardino, California's, Glen Helen Park. Like the Anaheim Supercross, the White Bros. race has become a social event of sorts, for racers of yesteryear and industry insiders as well. Asthey have each year, several past champions and factory riders will come out of "retirement" for the two-day event. Among the riders scheduled to compete in the premier Vet Pro Past heroes on hand at last year's White Bros. Vet class are former Supercross, 125, World Championships included (left to right) David 250 and 500cc National Champion Bailey, Richard Elerstadt, Gary Jones, Brad Jeff Ward, 1991 125cc National Lackey, Warren Reid, Chuck Sun, Rex Staten, Champion Guy Cooper, defending Tommy Croft and Marty Smith. Sunday's premier Vet Pro motos will be run at 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. American Suzuki is expected to display its not-yet-released 1996 RM250, as well as the company's all-new DR650 dual sport and RMX250 off-road bikes, and KTM Sportmotorcycles will have their full line of off-road machines on display, as well. PACE Supersports announces'96 Su ercross schedule M oments before this issue went to press Pace Supersports, the St. Petersburg, Florida-based promoters of the u.s. Supercross Series, Faxed us this schedule of • the 1996 supercross series. There are 15 events listed, the same number as last year's series, but there are two new venues - Charlotte Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina, and the Trans World Dome in St. Louis, Missouri. The final two events on the schedule are, as of yet, undecided. The AMA could not be reached for comment.
