Holland untouchable at Madera Motocross By Mark Hawkins MADERA. CA, OCT. 1 . The fourth and final round of the 1995 GFl Racing North's Fall series was held at the Little Okie Raceway in Madera, and it was Clawson Motorsports-sponsored Rusty Holland who came out on top of the 250cc Pro class. With the drop of the gate for the start of the first 250cc Pro moto, it was Dean M'atson who came out ~ith the holeshot and the lead. Matson was followed by Holland, Ricky Ryan, Dustin 8100mfield and Jon Nelson. Matson held the lead for about a lap and a half unti( Holland leaped past him by jumping the back-side triple. while Matson took them as a double and a Donate to sin~ gle. The running order was now Holland, Mat- son, Ryan, Jeff Pestana and Bloomfield. At the halfway point Holland had opened up a huge lead over second place, at least four or five sec- onds. On the final lap, Holland had a lead most racers only dream about and styled his way to THECLAYTON FOUNDATION the checkered flag with Ryan taking second. Pestana would hold on to third over Matson and Woods. At the start of mota two, Holland grabbed the holeshot followed by Matson, Ryan, Pestana and Woods. Holland immediately began to move away from Ryan and by the halfway point had again opened up a five- or six-second lead. But on lap seven of the 10-lap moto, Holland .2201 Cherry Avenue Long Beach, CA 90806 would slide out' entering the front straight and remount just as Ryan was turning the corner, Holland, trying to hold on to his lead, got the bike going a little before he got himself going and ~ad to literally pull himse.lf up on the Suzuki as it was jamming down the front straight. 310/427-7433 Ryan would take the white flag just ahead of Holland who seemed to have regained his composure.. and, coming around to the big tabletop jump, flew past Ryan to regain the lead. Holland would once again take the moto victory with Ryan in second, Pestana was third, Matson ·We want to be yourfavorite charity" fourth 'and Woods fifth.' Holland would take the overai"l with 1-1 mota finishes, Ryan got second with a 2-2, Pes-tOloa went 3-3 for third, fourth was Matson with a 4-4 and rounding out the top five was Woods with a 5-5.
