Winterset Enduro

Walker Luedtke came out of a summer of semiretirement to score the overall win in the second
Lowa enduro of the season, the Rattlesnake
Enduro, which w.as put on by the Des Moines
Enduro Riders near Winterset.
Luedtke claimed the victory by dropping 36
points a he bested 98 other riders on his Carroll
Cycle RMI25. Tim Taber made the trip from illinois again. to take the second-place overall honors and first-place 250cc A honors. He dropped
38 points. Dennis Murphy, riding a CR250,
droPP"d 40 points to achieve the first-place
standing in the AA class. Paul Kelly, riding a '95
CR 500, topped the Open A class with a 52. Mike
FaITlum took the 2llOcc A class with a 57.
The trail featured 102.2 miles of near-perfect
trails and roads. The race was run at a straight
24-mph average. It featured two 48-mile loops
with basically three sections of woods per loop.
