"1 never really saw Plessinger all day," said Andrews of the eventual cunner-up. "It was the fifth lap when Cooper could make it. 1 was 45 seconds ahead of Plessinger and 1 finished about twice that far ahead of him." "1 went out on the last lap determined to catch Plessinger," said Yamaha-mounted Norton. "1 had him in my sights about halfway through the last lap but it was hard to make up any ground with all the lappers out there. I was within 50 feet of him when he turned around and saw me. Unfortunately, at the same time \le saw me 1 hit a rock and careened off a rock and he got away. The race ended before I caught up again." "All of this close racing is good for the series bu tit's not necessarily good for my nerves," said Andrews of the close battle for the championship. "Summers doing bad, today is only going to make him hungner. Scott Plessinger and I always seem to do well at the end of the year. None of us have that big of an advantage anywhere, so it couId go any one of three ways." "1 have to win two of the remaining races no matter what and I have to watch what Plessinger and Andrews," said Summers of his title chances. "1 don't think that Cooper can win (the title) anymore after finishing fourth today." Blackwell ended up fifth with the Keegan brothers - 250cc A-class rivals Brian and Frank - finishing sixth and seventh,. respectively. Summers, Yamaha-mounted Duane Conner and Pennsylvania's R.J. Bennett rounded out the top ten overall. ~ Bunner's Ridge National Bunner's Ridge, West Virginia Results: September 17, 1995 O/A: 1. Fred Andrews (Yam); 2.
