Jake Holden, the BOce Amateur National Champion, tightened his stranglehold on the class after fighting off Chris Waite. All season long the two have finished 1-2, although in this race Waite got out of.shape and finished mid pack. With Waite's demise, second place went to Kyle Bunger while Cody Thompson was third. Holden also added the Schoolboy·dass win to his tally. Honda-mounted Dan Adkins pulJed off a similar runaway act in the 125cc main. Stanley won one of the three Expert heats followed by Eric Rickman and Lonny Kopp. Jeff Annen, Del Schnitzer and Chris Fitzhugh transferred out of heat two while the final direct transfers went to Rex Fisher, J.P. Simonsen and Eli Price. Two semis taking the top two from each added Troy Rose and Ryan Anderson from the first and Shane Butchart and Charlie Brown from the second to round out the field. By winning the fastest Expert heat race, Stanley sat on the pole for the 12-rider, 2Q-Iap Expert final. Stanley used it to his advantage by romping into the lead and never looking back. Winning five straight Kawasaki contingency races at the 1.1-mile track, the Dunlop-sponsored Roberti went away a happy guy. Roberti left a few bucks for second-place finisher, Kawasaki-mounted Mike Mitchell. Mike Dural was unable to participate in Saturday's practice but made a good showing finishing third in the Open Supersport event on Sunday. Ric Matthews powered his way to first in the Lightweight Supersport event, while a real race for last place developed between Rema Tillitt and Phil Beck.
