725 & Remember how awesome last year's YZ125 and YZ250 were? The YZ125 won the Motocross Shootout in Cycle News. The YZ250 snagged Bike of the Year honors from Motocross Action Magazine. • Great bikes-but they're history now, because while everyone was getting pumped over them, the guys in the white engineer coats and the guys in .the helmets were busy re-designing the YZ125 and YZ250 from just about ground zero.• First-new engine. There's a new crank, which opened the door to new cylinder porting. Both the 125 and 250 are different than the '95 design and now spew out more low-end and mid-range, to create. a broader powerband. The 125 received a new Mikuni carburetor with a trick carbon fiber reed, and a redesigned guillotine power valve.• The 250 took on a better Keihin earb and a n~w passageway into the resonator chamber.
