AMA Grand National Champion
Scott Parker fought back to rack
up another win on his record-breaking
total. The Swartz Creek, Michigan, rider
led all 25 laps of the Hoosier Half Mile,
notching his sixth win of the 1995 season and stretching his points lead to 45
over Rich King.
"I know it can be boring when a guy
gets out front and just stays there, but it
looked pretty damn good from my
seat," said Parker. '1 knew what I had to
do and that was stay on the rubber and
cruise around. If they passed me on the
outside, then I'd worry about it at that
point. As long as I could stay on the bottom, he'd either have to knock me off or
pass me on the outside - one of the
two."
Second place went to the resurgent
veteran, Steve Morehead. "We did the
best we could and got beat," said the
Ohioan. "The motorcycle ran good,
worked good, we just got beat. I was a
little quicker than he was early on, but I
think that's just the scenario of chasing.

If I could have got the jump on him and
let him follow me around to see if I
made a mistake, it could have been different."
Kevin Atherton considers Goshen to
be his home track as he only lives a few
