JUNE 9 , Popular Vet Pro racer Dave Coupe' made a rare appearance at round five of Cyc1eland's Sum mer High Point Series and gave the field a lesson in ve rsa tility as the Ca rm ichael Honda / FMFl Race Techl Arai-backed ride r brough t his bag of outdoor ridi ng skills to the tighter confines of Supercross a nd walked away with the 250cc main even t win . Sehool started early in the p rogra m with Co upe' ta kin g a wire- to-wire wi n in his heat race to ad vance to the final with Third Degree Racing' s Aaron Burns win ning the second qualifying heat, and the stage was set to see if old age and treachery could overcome youth and speed. As the gate dropped for the Io-Iap main it wa s Co upe' o ut front with a pa ck of sna rling pupils behind led by Kurt Favre , Aaron Bums, Jesse Bath, and Chris Verboom. This pack stayed nose to tail for a couple of laps until Verboom snuck past Bath to take over fourth spot.
