On lap seven Bums fina lly got past Favre with a perfectly executed block pass and set his sights on Coupe'. Once again Bums was able to close within striki ng distance of Coupe' but a s ligh t ta ng le wi th a la p ped rider s low ed the charge, and it gave Co upe' all the cushion he needed as he cruised to the win . A larg e cro wd and pe rfect condi tions greeted the more tha n 400 riders that ca me to particip ate in the event. In the first rnoto, Oxley grabbed the holeshot and ju mped ah ead . es tablishing a wide margin over the rest of the field . Head ing up the battle for second pla ce. Torre Streifthaw wa s doing everything he cou ld to hold off Michael Akaydin. but that d idn 't stop Aka ydin from trying. On the third lap, Akaydin made his bid . but Streifthaw slammed the door and raced ahead. O n the next lap, Streifthaw and Akaydin were w heel to wheel goi ng over the tabletop jump, and Akaydin was able to overtake Streift haw in tJ:>e first tum to nab seco nd place. By th is time Ox ley's lead was unassailable a nd he cruised to the first -mote w in unchallenged. Akaydin had pulled ahead and managed to ho ld seco nd place un til the last la p, but as the Cobra rid er was ap proaching the finish line. he crashed. a nd Streifthaw shot ah ead , taking the second spot away from the downed rider. leaving Akayd in th ird . At the sta rt of the second mota Oxley again shot ah ead and wo u ld race to the checkered flag unp res sure d to cla im t he overa ll victo r y .
