hosted by the White Rose M.e.
Rick Soter 1II followed suit to secure
his top pos ition in the 540cc class, only
need ing one pass on the stre tched BSA
to hold off the current champion, Paul
Pinsonnault.
One of th e riders' favorite stops on
the circuit because of the more modern
accomm odations, the White Rose event
drew below-ave rage crowd to the beau tifully ma intained grounds. For th ose
that didn 't show u p it was their loss, as
the weather and competition were both
top notch.
Kevin Zucco lotteried for the first run
of the event in 540cc class . Zu cco, son of
the fa t her/ so n Kawasaki team fro m
Agaw am , Massachussetts, launched his
immaculate bright-green Kawasaki onto
the hill and clocked a 6.268-second ru n.
Zu cco returned in the second round and
bested his own time with a 6.1140, beating Jam es Zu cco, his dad, both climbs.
The 17 -year-o ld is o ne o f t he two
youngest ri d ers - the ot he r is Da vid
Watson - to possess a Pro license, and he

proved his ability by securing
a third-place finish aboard his
new Kawasaki.
Paul Pinsonnault put hi s
number-one-plate hold er on th e hill,
sty lis hly sq ueezing a 6.762 ou t of th e
bike in a wheelie-fest of a ride. Pinsonnault returned on his Pinsonnault MotoX, Wul fsport, Bocr i H elm et s-b ack ed
Ho nda for round two. Improving his
time with a 5.9782, he wa s u na ble to
bea t Rick Soter's best tim e for th e d ay
an d had to settle for second place.
Ri ck Soter' s s ing le, roc ke t r ide
aboard his nitro burner clocked a 5.679.
He needed only one run to po cket his
first victory of the year.
Rand y Gabriel of Columbus, Ohio,
home base of the Pro USA Hillclimb
team, had firs t run at the White Rose
Hill to start the 800cc class. Getting off
on the right foot, Gabriel put a good ride
in with his aggressive approach to clock
a 5.9813. Gab ri el's secon d climb
improved with a 5.9588, but not fast
enough to ele va te him from a six thplace finis h for the d ay' s event. Rand y
left it up to his teammates, Bob Cas tledin e and Steve Dresser to take third and
second place, resp ectively.
Castl ed ine's firs t ride was a 5.8216,
w hich slowed d own to a 5.8837 on his
second attempt. Still a third-place finish,
however. Dresser prod uced his 5.8195
climb in th e first round. Hungry for a
