Hedden, Sisemore share honors atAuburn Speedway By Gen Moore AUBURN, CA, MAY19 Bobby Hedden and Jimmy Sisemore came to open ing night at Fast Frid ays and came awa y with wins in the Handicap ma in and the Scratch main events, respectively . Hea vy rain s had caused the cancellation of the first two nigh ts of the regula r season as well as the American Final , but the fans who packed the stands were for an eveni ng of great racing, and they wer e not disappointed. Pat Linn came off the 4O-yard line a t the start of the Handicap main event to lead the race with Tomm y Hedden, Louis Kossuth and Bobby Hedden in hot pursuit and dicing for position. Using the high line Kossuth took second, and Bobby Hedden moved into th ird when his brother Tomm y Hedden went wide in the corner . By this time Sisemore was coming on strong to challenge the top th ree. At the start of the white flag lap Bobby Hedden got und erneath Linn and made the pass. Sisemore and Kossuth were righ t there as Sisemore stayed low and Kossu th went high sand.wiching Linn between them as they passed him and set aft er th e lea der. But Bobby Hedden stayed stro ng to tak e the checkered flag. Sisemore was secon d and Kossuth took third . Sise mo re a n d Bobby Hedden ca me righ t back to challenge Bob Hicks and Bart Bast in the Scratch ma in. Bast a nd Sisemo re came off the line a nd rode side by side for four laps. At one po int , Bobb y Hedden reeled in both riders to mak e it three a breas t go ing in to tu rn three before d ropping back Bast, wh o was sporling a new '[a wa layd own ma chi ne, was a ble to stay just slig h tly ahea d w h ile on th e pol e, a nd it ap peared as thou gh he wo uld win the race.
