The Polish round finis hed in bizarre fashio n afte r rain totally washed out the 13 sections during the fina l lap on Sund ay. Nearly everyone finished close to the maximum of 70 po ints. T he exception was Belgi an rider Micha el Vukcevic - who rides with a Luxembourg license to please his spo nsors - as he was the only rider to actually bett er one of his earlier scores on the final lap. Th e reas on for th is was that Vukcevic started ea rly on Sunday, following a lowly position after Saturday's opening lap around the 14-section loop . Vukcevic wa s act ua lly in the pits and . done with the trial by the time the skies opened up. Thanks to th is h eavenly intervention, Vukcev ic gained his first ever World Championship points as he finished a delighted 11th place.
