Bill Ibsen Acworth, GA Can't keep track It's great to see yo ur ad eve ry w eek in Cycle News a d ve r tisi n g th e dates and Trials coverage I recently re-discovere d yo ur newsp ap er and wa s rea lly surp rised, not to mention ve ry pl eased at the effo rt yo u guys put out th ese da ys. I used to race motocross and read the pap er word for word religio u sly . But after gettin g o u t o f th at sport for the outrageou s cos ts it ha d led to, I also dropped th e s u bscrip tio n because it had no co verage of w h at I had changed to - trials rid ing. Th e cove ra ge on the '95 series is particularly good, at least it w as on the few shows I managed to view during their sche d uled time slo ts. Th e probl em is that half th e sh ows d on't go on as advertised and of the o nes that do, the time sl ot s are never co nsis te n t week after week . Between remembering to set the VCR' s timer for a d ifferent d ay each w eek, a d ifferent time and for us on Eastern time adjusting the date by a da y (9:00 p.m . is 12:00 a.m the next da y), I'm surprised tha t I caug ht eve n 20 percent of all the pro- grams I wanted to see . Even Motoworld is hard to keep track of. C learly there is so m e th in g wrong . After all, th e programs are clearl y adve rtised and motorcycl e co ve rage is at an all-time high. Lucky for us, Cycle News is the re to cover every race. I just hope something will be d one to address this problem in '96, because without a d ep endable sch ed ule of motorcy cle pr ogram s (Su percross l), th ere re all y is no reason to watch spo rts on cable TV .
