The F-l race was highlighted by a tight battle among the Ducatis of White, Michael Myers, Jim Lester and Dean Verp la nk. Sound of Singles Formula 1 was a four-way battle involving Jason Weir on a BB Rotax, Sven Bley on a NWS Rotax, James Hanrahan on a Bimota BBI and Dave Knapp on another Rotax-powered machine. Knapp and Weir led at various points, but when this freight train crossed the finished line, Hanrahan was the one in fron t. TRIAL On the wooded slo pes between the motocro ss track a nd a lake, orga niz ers laid out eight cha llengi ng sectio ns that greeted riders with rocks, mud, logs, roots and climbs. Section eight went up a g u lly that seemed to include ev ery possible obstacle. Riders using the easier lines were confronted with a particularly snotty bit of mud at the entrance to th e section: too much throttle spun the back wheel and ended man y rides early. Those us ing the two tougher lines had to cross th e gully and contend with additional mud, loose rocks and tree parts. Ride of the da y went to Ducatimounted Bob Capistrant, who lost only five points in Premier Lightweight Master. Second to Capistrant in the class was Bob Ginder, who had 19 marks taken away with his Greeves. Yamaha-mounted Mike Hyslop and Suzuki-mounted James Smith each sco red 15 points in the largest clas s, Modern Cla ssic Advanced - with th e win going to Hyslop. Chris Makynen (BSA) and Brian Sla ck (Triu mp h) also tied, at eight points, wi th Makynen taking the tie breaker in the competitive Premier Lightweight Advanced class. a Res ults : May 19-21,1995 AHRMAlClu.ic Bike M"'guinc Dirt Track Se ri es, Round 5, May 19. 1-96 Speedway, Lake Odessa.
