the duration.
"I guess that star t really tor qued me
off," Parker sai d, "Then I said t9 mysel f,
' Th is is stup id.' It fired m e up, an d I
said, 'L et' s get it on boys.:"
With Parker, M oreh ead , Farris, Davis
and Springsteen fan ni ng out fo r most of

p lace after disposing of Ro ger s, who
had been running sixth before dropping
off the pace.
" It felt like a Canadian National ou t
th er e, " Bea t tie said. " We always run
head to head at the Cana dian races."
Beattie continued to run it i n the dir t,
w hile Evans stayed on the rubber.
" I t was go i ng pretty good, " Evans
said, "I'm stillleaming to set the bike up
for th e groove. I t was bl ood y twitchy in
th e m ai n ."

bike all night long, but it p aid off ."
