Yamaha YDX-Moro Bicycle e-MTB First Look
I
n July 2020, Yamaha released its first Class-3 e-
Bike, the Civante, to the U.S. market. A Class-3
electric-bicycle provides assistance only when
the rider is pedaling and that assistance up to 28
miles per hour. The next evolution for Yamaha is
the release of two new full-suspension e-MTB
models, the YDX-Moro ($4499) and YDX-Moro
Pro ($5499). The YDX-Moro models are Class-1
e-Bikes, delivering pedal assist up to 20 mph. The
new Moro trail bikes feature a new motor, a quad
sensor system, new auto and walk modes and a
dual twin frame.
"This is the bike that Yamaha fans have been
asking for, a full-suspension e-Bike crafted
through a collaboration of Yamaha designers and engineers to create the best handling, best assist-
feeling all-mountain e-Bike on the market, hands down," said Drew Engelmann, Yamaha's Power Assist
Bicycle group sales and marketing manager. "Yamaha has designed a frame like no one else before,
developed a new drive unit with all-new features.'"

Sneak Peak: 2021 Honda CBR600RR
T
he 2021 Honda CBR600RR
will be getting a full makeover
for the first time in well over a de-
cade, with the Big H showing off
a teaser video on YouTube and
on their Japanese website.
The 2021 Honda CBR600RR
video doesn't show much
other than a smaller bike that's
clearly modeled on the 2020
CBR1000RR-R SP, with little
winglets, the same color scheme,
and LED lighting front and rear.
We can also see the same
dash (briefly) in the video, and
see it's got variable riding modes,
engine brake control, wheelie
control and traction control, most
likely indicating the presence of
an IMU.
The styling, while new, isn't
a massive departure from the
under-seat exhaust/pointy-front
style the CBR pioneered way
back in the early 2000s, as such,
we don't know if the chassis will
be changed dramatically from
what's currently on sale. The
same goes for the suspension.
The unveiling date for the new
CBR is August 21, 2020. CN
